Cyber Security - What we have and what we need
Abstract – In the age of the ever-growing world of the Internet, the importance of Cyber Security cannot be stressed enough. We leave our digital footprint on every website we visit, with every action on the internet. Technology is evolving and expanding at a rapid pace. Newer technologies such as Cloud Computing, Internet Of Things, Machine Learning etc. These new technologies on the grow have their own vulnerabilities. With the advent of technology, we are seeing a rapid increase in cyber attacks and cybercrime. Cybercrimes and threats are the new way to jeopardize an organization or achieve various motives. Recent events during the pandemic have only added to this misery. Statistics reveal cybercrime has increased by 600% during the pandemic. Anyone with a digital device connected to a network is susceptible to such attacks and therefore it is important to spread general awareness of education on cybersecurity and bring in cybersecurity regulations. This paper summarizes possible types of cybersecurity threats, case studies and examples, current solutions and state of art.
